Race Day
The Weather
The Track
Oh Lord, look at those
clouds,  will we race?
Sunday Morning brought a
light rain & doubts in my
mind as to weather we
would see track time. This
was going to be the
furthest I had ever gone to
a race that had been called
for rain. I sign up,Tech my
bikes and go to riders
meeting anyway.
As you left the Registration trailer, this girl,
Amarie, was there with a Welcome Bag, in it were
nice little gifts for all the Racers, from the local
Buisnesses and best of all, a cool shirt. Still the
rain kept coming lightly. No one else was leaving
so I rolled my bike up to the line and went out for
practice, in a light rain.

Here is a view of the skyline as I rolled my bike to
the start of first practice. I was trying to be optimistic
but hey look at it. Then it backed off and was over
cast. Natural watering made the Volcanic Loam track
absolutly perfect. It was hands down the best DIRT
I've ever raced on. PERIOD !!!
Below: As you can see the dirt
was so cushy, you could really
stuff it into the corners, the
cushion would catch you and
hold you up.
Below:Right, There were a couple of good passing straights, they were both this
wide. Left, I had fun going through this drop away jump-turn thing. The track
matured as the day wore on. It got a little rough, but I like that. One racer was
heard to say" I must be getting old I don't like rough Tracks" I thought it was fine.
Here is my YouTube video of the trip and a couple of laps around the track
