Hi, my name is Robin Hannah. I race Vintage MotoCross, at an Intermediate level. I'm not a Novice or an Expert, I race the middle of the skill level ratings. My race # is 960. I started racing in 2006. For the 20yrs previous to this, I rode jetskiis Offshore (out in the ocean). I had not been on a motorcycle since I sold my almost new 1986 KX500 and went jetskiing. In 2006 my stepdad past away and he had an SL125 Honda he told my mom, He wanted me to have. That's when I decided to race Vintage MX. It took me 6mos to build the SL 125. I went to several Vintage races to see what the other SL 125's were set up like, but there wasn't one to look at. No one was running a 4stroke in 125 Classic class, every bike was a 2 stroke. I built the bike to my own specs. I only made one race in 2006. Then in 2007, I raced the whole season. Making the SL the first 4stroke to ever win the 125 class, in the Ahrma Northwest VMX Championship. The following year I repeated the win taking the 2008 Championship title.

During the off season break of winter 2008, I was thinking about my versatility as a racer, and if I just experienced racing one bike in one class, my racing would be one dimensional, and to see if I could push myself to be a more well rounded rider, I built a 175 CT1 Yamaha and raced it in 250 classes in Ahrma PVMX and VMX. At the same time a friend of mine offered to sponsor me on an 82 Husqvarna 500cr in Post Vintage mx. Which I accepted and after a lot of work and set up it was an awesome race bike as this video from the Taft National shows So 2009 was a busy season racing wrenching and prepping 2 bikes all season. At the end of the season I had taken the 250cc Ahrma regional (on a 175) and the 500cc AVDRA National Championships.

Between 2009 and 2010 I got the idea for the "MotoQuest". To be the first guy in Vintage Motocross to win Championships in all the major engine sizes which are 100/125/250/500/Open Twin. So I built a 100cc SL Honda 4stroke and raced the whole season. Taking The AHRMA Regional and the AVDRA National Championships in 100cc. I also raced +40 classes in both Clubs. At 53yrs old I was giving up 10yrs also most age class riders race 400cc 2strokes, I was on my SL100. In +40 I ended up 3rd N/W Region in Ahrma and Taking the National +40 Title in AVDRA on a 100!!

Below... After building a very potent 1972 CZ 400, for an overseas customer last season, he wanted me to do a shakedown run with it. So when AVDRA had their annual CZ world Championship race in Gardnerville Nevada. I went, and even though the bike was barely broken in I won my Class 500 Intermediate

Back to the "MotoQuest" Having now won 100/125/250/500cc Championships, there is only one left, to achieve my goal. Open twin. Premier Open Twin is the class I am gunning for next. Premier Open Twin is a class for bikes manufactured with 600cc or more and having separate engine and transmission cases, Pre-unit. Of the choices out there only BSA, Triumph and Norton, are feasible to use for Vintage MotoCross. This is where I'll need your help with technical advice, Parts and tool location help. Please consider helping me, I would represent your shop by wearing a Jersey with your shop logo while competing and steer people in your direction at the races. Please contact me and let me know if you are interested in this idea.
