Hey VMXR............
Man I had a great time at
Clay Peak!
The track owner Carl and
his crew did a great job of
preparing the track and
organizing the racing action.
At the last minute they had
to combine a few classes,
which can be very
confusing, but they pulled it
off very smoothly. Randy
Skiver gets a big thumbs up
for the way he organized
the AHRMA side of the
race with all of the
responsibilities that come
with that position.

The track is located in a
fairly rocky area, but the
track itself was prepared
SO WELL, with virtually no
rocks, and a lot of mulch
tilled in to hold the
moisture. Carl deserves a
big thumbs up for his hard
work. He and his crew kept
it watered nicely virtually
eliminating any dust. Carl
incorporated some really
fun big sweeping corners in
a few of the higher speed
areas - which really made it
fun to pin it and hang on!
There were plenty of
challenging off-camber
corners and hair-pins
thrown in as well, but a
very flowing track where
you could keep your
momentum going.

The weather was great - if
you like heat, (high 80's)
which I do being an old
desert rat.

There was a good turn-out
of Washington and Oregon
riders, Kevin Blackburn and
Lyle Durowso were there,
as well as Randy Skiver,
Dallas Nyblod, Mark
Sullivan, Glen Finnerin and
his crew (including his 17
year old grandson Alex - a
REALLY good kid!) As well
as Ron Predmore, Kevin
Spencer, and many others
that represent the
Lumberjack series.

The Bay Area was
represented well with the
Pooles' - Rob and Debbie,
Mark Benedetti, George
Gerstenberg, Jerry Visman,
Rick Del Fiorentino, and
others.I held up the Nevada
contingent as best as I
could!

Best of all - NO ambulance
rides were given out!! A
very SAFE well prepared
track for sure!

I'll be emailing you a lot of
pictures shortly.

Sorry we missed you, but
we'll catch up with you at
Dixon!

This Event rocked, it was well run and
organized. The track had unique obticles,
that were challenging enough for experts,
but not too tough for novices. As the fact
that No Ambulance rides, proves. I plan to
go again next year.
