Yes, Metcalf is a County Park, so there
are plenty of maintained trash cans
Although the start gate and Pits can be
far apart, pit riding, slowly, is allowed.
At times NO, places where you landed, from
jumps, and had to correct, corners, and just slick
spots were improperly watered at first, then fixed.
Yes, No Hookups
Metcalf is Hardpack dirt, that is preped with
wood chip type organic material. It tends to
be Crisco slick when watered.
Accomodations are very nice for spectators.
The jumps were abrupt for Vintage riders but
the PV guys really liked the Permenant
Track Layout, as mandated by Park Officials.
Very fine silty sand, clay, gravel and
mixed in wood chips. Crisco when wet!
So many alternate lines and
places to pass at Metcalf. It really
is a FUN track to race at. The
temps were High but the breeze
coming up the canyon made them
bearable.

Alternate lines, here Steve is
outside, the guy in front of me is inside,
I ended up in the middle. We all had
room.
By our second Motos it had
packed up pretty hard. The
jumps shot you up really
good or bad depending on
what you were riding.
Above Left to Right: It was good to see
Ric Tipton(Center) up and walking at
Metcalf. He is coming back after being
run over at Taft this year.Right: His race
team GP Maico was there and made a
good showing. Here he is in this Picture
at the AVDRA/Metcalf regional Last year.
You can see from this photo, early on,
the track had a little coushon
