Next time I see Todd He will receive a
FREE Little Fauss and Big Halsey DVD
from the vintagemxvideo Back Road
DVD Store. Some of LF&BH was filmed
at Sears Point/ Infineon Raceway where
this photo was taken during the
                              Sonoma Classic 2008
Who are
 Victor Leloupe,
 Augistine
        Mingels,
Johnny
       Draper,
Leslie Archer ?
I asked "who are Victor
Leloupe,Augustine Mingels,
Johnny Draper, Leslie
Archer", of a particularly
snotty old guy busting a kids
chops about not knowing who
Roger DeCoster was at a
vintage race one time . The
kid and him both looked at me
like I was speaking Martian or
something.I followed with "the
kid did'nt know one World
Champion You did'nt know
four. What's the matter
before your time?" I had just
had it with people being stuck
in a bracket of time and being
so narrow minded about that
era.

I wonder how vintage racers
would feel if there were
Previntage hardtail MX Events
and they would'nt let them run
on the same day because
bikes with shocks tear up the
track too much. I keep having
this vision of a "Race Through
Time Series" . A living
MotoCross History lesson a
spectator could go to and see
Vintage,Post Vintage and
Modern Motocross on the
same program. Then we'd have
a common connection. A racer
could go and race all his bikes
on the same day. With the
same amount of respect given
to all the races. The problem
would be too many people
might like it.
It never ceases to amaze
me how the Vintage Mx
Guys Hijack Brad Lackey
as "Their Champion" I'm
sorry I thought he won the
1982 500cc World MX
Championship. Well it must
have been on a pre 1974
bike I guess. Truth is
he'sThe 1st American
Champion and belongs to
all of US no matter what
time zone we're in. For me
this is why  the post vintage
era is so special to
americans because up until
Brad in 82 when talking
about World Champions,
we were "also rans". So
really post vintage is the
most significant era for
American Mx.
Oh by the way,
                   The
Motocross
Champions I
mentioned earlier
were
Victor Leloupe
1952
Augistine Mengels
1953-4
Johnny Draper
1955
Leslie Archer the
year I was born
1956
Todd leave that poor kid
alone for Pete's sakes.
